(I think Greece has some connection as well, but I can't remember if its the country or just some region.)

However, the suggestion that St. George killed the last dragon is disputable, since there were still dragons around in King Arthur's time.JackOfClubshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10453616863781646015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708070.post-1153166594089969162006-07-17T13:03:00.000-07:002006-07-17T13:03:00.000-07:00And what about the dragon? He was on an endangered species list, but St George still killed him, and now there are no more dragons...

Maybe St-George should be a patron saint of anti-environmentalists, instead of England...soniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00938174968325568608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708070.post-1152933845993314732006-07-14T20:24:00.000-07:002006-07-14T20:24:00.000-07:00I'm not quite sure how it works over there. Anglicans look at saints as sort of Christian heroes, not having the intercessory powers ascribed to them by Rome and the East, but still worthy of respect.JackOfClubshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10453616863781646015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708070.post-1152841327840112962006-07-13T18:42:00.000-07:002006-07-13T18:42:00.000-07:00I'm surprised the C of E maintains that it has a p...I'm surprised the C of E maintains that it has a patron saint. Isn't that liable to offend someone too? For that matter, I think that Christ is pretty offensive to a lot of people. Why don't we ... oh, wait, Flannery O'Connor beat me to it.Toddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08194424808210976030noreply@blogger.com
